BJBF Music for School program
Last week the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival Foundation proudly presented a donation of $800 to the Academia Internacional de Boquete, a school with 160 students of 26 different nationalities. The school is planning to create a student orchestra. The BJBF Music for School program is using the net profits of the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival to support musical education at local schools, and the AIB was the first beneficiary of this program. We're proud being able to help find and support the development of local musical talents!

The 2012 Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival was a great success! A wonderful venue,  a great variety of world-class music, excellent wheather ( it was like a miracle that the first raindrops started falling at the very end of the last show on Sunday, March 4, and on Monday it was raining cats&dogs!)...we started the festival with Boquete's first-ever Mardi Gras parade led by the Smoking Time Jazz Club, a street band flown in From New Orleans...you have never seen so many smiling faces (many of them painted), so much radiant joy in the streets of Boquete! The following show at the garden party at the Panamonte hotel with jambalaya and original New Orleans hurricanes was loved by all, it was a most colorful assembly of fantastic costumes amid the flowers and trees of the Panamonte's beautiful garden, and the Smoking Time Jazz Club's show was fantastic!
And it continued this way all 4 days of the festival....free concerts in the park, great shows at the amphitheatre, packed jam sessions at local restaurants at night....the Boquete valley of the rainbows was resonating with music  for 4 days all over the place....Please check out the photos and videos on our gallery page
This was definitely the best music festival Boquete and Chiriqui have ever seen.....and we'll do it again next year!
