We had a great Halloween fundraising party at the Las Ruinas restaurant in Boquete on Wednesday, Oct 26. Check out the nice little video in our gallery to see how much fun everybody had!
It is amazing what's going on in this small town! There's almost no day of the week passing without having the chance of listening and dancing to live music somewhere. There's music at Las Ruinas restaurant, Amigo's restaurant, Oasis hotel, Baru restaurant, The Rock restaurant.....you can dance to the music of local latin jazz bands, rock-blues, oldies but goodies...take line-dancing or Merengue lessons....and then there's also a lively arts and theatre scene...it's like the natural beauty of the Chiriqui highlands is inspiring an amazing amount of talent! All this will culminate in the annual Flower Festival in January, and the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival in March....come here and get experienced!
We just posted two wonderful slide shows about the natural beauty of Boquete on the visitors' information page of this website. Go check them out and get a taste what you're going to see when you'll come here for the Jazz&Blues Festival in March 2012!
It keeps getting better and better! We're very excited to announce that one of the greatest contemporary New Orleans musicians has just been added to the line-up of the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival! Check out our artist page and go to 'Jumpin' Johnny Sansone's webpage. His latest CD "The Lord is waiting and the devil is too" which was produced by Anders Osborne (who also plays the guitar part) has received rave reviews for Johnny's fine songwriting and the incredibly 'fat' sound of his chromatic harp playing. Don't miss to see and hear Johnny at the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival in March 2012!
We're exited to announce that the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival now enjoys the full support of the Boquete chamber of tourism! This cooperation will contribute greatly to promote tourism to the beautiful highlands of Chiriqui province as well as to Panama as a whole while at the same time helping to develop the Jazz&Blues Festival into a major musical event in Panama that is not be missed!
Yeah, it's the season of witches, devils, scorcerers, scoundrels, pirates, the undead and all those other rotten creatures of the heavens and the underworld again! The Boquete Jazz&Blues Foundation is calling on all creatures of the night to assemble at Las Ruinas de Boquete restaurant (how appropriate is that?) on Oct 26 from 5-8pm for a creepy, ghostly, halloweenish ceremonial fundraiser for the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival. Feast the beast and dance to life music of Rigoberto Coba's monster latin jazz band! Be a winner in our monster raffle with three amazing monster prizes! Costumes are optional but will be highly appreciated!
Our friends of BJBF club is now open for members! Just go to the Friends of the Festival page and sign up. You'll get a value of $84 for a $60 annual subscription! Ain't that a great deal??? Sign up and pay via Paypal. Doing so will help us greatly to finance the festival. It's as easy as that! Welcome to the club!
Check out the wonderful, short review of some of the highlights of the 2011 Boquete Jazz Festival, put together by our chief photographer Michael Moore!
