BJBF2015 headliner of the week: The Deanna Bogart Band

When it comes to Deanna Bogart, everyone wants to claim her as their own -- her hometown, her fans, her fellow musicians and even her instruments. She's that good–and that good-natured. Born in Detroit, Deanna spent her early years in Phoenix and New York City, climbing on any available piano bench to plunk and play with preternatural panache.
Today, Deanna Bogart is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and multifaceted musician whose fans value the diversity of her genre-free zone.  As a bandleader/singer/songwriter/producer/pianist/sax player, Deanna combines the best of boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country and jazz into a splendid blend she calls “blusion.”
Recognized for her dazzling keyboards, soulful saxophone, smoky vocals and cut-above songwriting, Deanna easily wins the hearts of fans on land and at sea on chartered cruises.  She is a featured player in the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue, jamming with Tommy Castro, Magic Dick (founding member of the J. Geils Band), as well as prominent guitar slingers. Deanna remembers well her early years as a budding musician and is an avid educator and mentor, sharing her insight and wisdom with students of all ages - and besides all of this she's just a wonderful human being!.
Deanna and her band have all that it needs to deliver a show that you won't easily forget, and we're very proud being able to present her to the Panamanian public for the first time! Don't miss her show at the 2015 Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival on Saturday, February 07 at 1:30pm.
In addition, we're certain that you'll be able to catch her jamming at some of the 5 after-hours jam sessions during the festival!

The time is near when the graveyard monsters come crawling out of their dens again!

Come y'all to the crazy, bewitching BJBF Halloween party at the Oasis restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 25!

All Boquete monsters, witches, conjurors, mad men & women, vampires, zombies & other creatures of the underworld are invited to the feast. A full  buffet dinner with 6 choices of crazy foods will be available to please the monstrous palates as well as a special witches' brew...life music of Gary Whiting's monster mash band will get the crazy crowd up and jumpin'...all of this is included in a petty graveyard fee of a mere 28 greenbacks, and a good part of it will go to the festival coffers!

Don't miss out on this once-in-a-year event!

Dress code: Crazy. Costumes very much desired but optional
Mood: Soaring (beware of flying witches!)
Energy: Boundlessly bouncing (all you saved in a year staying underground or hidden in the dark of night!)

Tickets are available at Mailboxes ETC. and at the Tuesday market in Boquete. Get them while the last!
